Abstract |
Background. The article focuses on the modern information and communication environment in the perspective of the Coordinated Management of Meaning theory by W.B. Pearce and V.E. Cronen. According to the author, the generation and transmission of meaning in the current information age is becoming more and more mediated and is losing its original linguistic basis. In this regard, communication theories, in particular CMM theory, the subject of which is interpersonal relations, attach particular importance. The aim of the study is to analyze the characteristics of the modern information environment in the perspective of the CMM theory. Materials and methods. The author analyzes the main Russian and foreign sources concerning the CMM theory, reflecting the main stages of its paradigmatic development. The formal part of the theory is illustrated by the examples of dialogue between actor and musician Pyotr Mamonov and TV anchor Ksenia Sobchak in the Doc-Talk TV programme. In order to study communicative practices, the author uses the methods of existential phenomenological and narrative analysis. Results. For the first time in Russian philosophy, the article reveals the conceptual foundations of the CMM theory. According to the author, the neo-Kantian concept of H. Arendt and the phenomenology of the language of P. Ricoeur served as the main sources of this theory. In this connection, such basic concepts for this theory as "emplotment" and "transcendental rhetoric" assume great significance. Following the studies of the Doc-Talk TV programme, a narrative analysis of the communication practices of its participants is carried out, the main stages and models of communication are revealed, and such phenomena as "strange loop" and "cosmopolitan communication" are highlighted. The materials of the article can be used to develop courses on communication theory, social philosophy and philosophy of language for undergraduate and graduate students. Conclusions. At the end of the article, the author comes to the conclusion that the heuristic potential of the CMM theory is not exhausted, its. |
